Step 3: Dog Kennel
Did you click on this post because you were wondering how on earth someone expects to turn the featured shed into a kennel, and why? To get caught up see Step 1, and Step 2. Luckily, my parents donated my grandpa’s old tack room to the dog breeding cause. This will be the third time this building has been moved… well if it doesn’t fall apart this time. If that happens we will have to burn it.
In the beginning, my husband had to prep the building to be moved onto the trailer.
My poor husband had NO IDEA what he was getting himself into.
It took 4 hours just to get this thing fully loaded onto the trailer. It did not want to move off of the ground! This video shows how fast the shed was able to move.
I’m BEYOND lucky that my husband was dedicated enough to stick with this. He worked his ass off. I’m also lucky to have my dad who was more than willing to help! After 4 hours of hard work, and dedication the shed was ready for transport… before this point their were comments about how we were practically watching grass grow.
Unfortunately, some issues arose while leaving my parents house… you can see what happened here.
When we arrived home the wind was blowing hard. RAIN WAS COMING! Our cell phones started ringing with weather warnings. This was the only day we had to get this done…
It was starting to sprinkle, everyone was tired, and the shed did NOT want to come off the trailer. At one point it slid sideways… if it kept going in this direction it would fall over. Luckily my husband and I were able to push it back straight.
After some dedication, and maybe a few curse words it finally hit the ground! The shed landed dangerously close to a stump, but there was no damage. It was a long day, but my husband had the determination to make it happen!
PURE HAPPINESS! BAM! MY HUSBAND IS AMAZING!
What did we learn from this experience? A used shed is much cheaper, more work, AND it might be worth it to find a professional to move it… by the way we did try a professional and he said no. I guess he wasn’t as brave as my husband?
